Keel-laying of the sixth small missile ship of 21631 project

On August, 29, 2013 on the eve of the Day of the Republic of Tatarstan, a solemn ceremony of keel-laying of the sixth small missile ship of 21631 project developed by the JSC «Zelenodolsk Design Bureau» took place at the JSC „Zelenodolsk plant named after A.M. Gorky“ (incorporated by the JSC „Ak Bars“ Holding Company»).
The Deputy Minister of Defense of the RF Mr. Yury Borisov, Deputy Prime-Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Mr. Ravil Zaripov, the Director General of the JSC «Ak Bars» Holding Company Mr. Ivan Egorov, Deputy Head of the Zelenodolsk municipal region Mr. Foat Shamsiev, the Director General of the JSC „Zelenodolsk plant named after A.M. Gorky“ Mr. Renat Mistakhov, and representatives of the Designer and subcontracting companies took part in the ceremony of keel-laying of this ship.
Small missile ships of 21631 project constructed for the Russian Navy are multipurpose sea and river going ships equipped with the sophisticated artillery, missile, anti-sabotage, anti-aircraft and radio-electronic weapons. The name of an ancient Russian city Vyshny Volochek will be given to the sixth ship.
Within the framework of the visit to the enterprise the guests made themselves familiar with the construction process of the third ship of 21631 project «Veliky Ustyug». After that the guests of the ceremony visited the hull preparation workshop, where the advanced equipment is installed as a part of the large-scale modernization program. The reequipment of production facilities enables the plant to increase the production volumes and to reduce the timing of orders.
The ceremony was concluded by traditional reward of the best plant employees who made a significant contribution to the construction and delivery of ships for the Russian Fleet.
